Hampshire and Isle of Wight Youth Options Get Their Computers Maintained and Supported To Enable Them to Help The South’s Youths!
Hampshire Youth Options (HYO) – is a Hampshire based charity which has significant success in supporting, developing and engaging children and young people. Their fundamental commitment is to improve the life chances of young people through vibrant, dynamic and an ever-evolving programme of activities tailored to the needs of the individual. Every year they help hundreds of children from all over the South Hampshire region (Andover, Winchester, Eastleigh, Southampton) to gain valuable life skills and to give them a different view point on what they can achieve in life. Be it from tailored outdoor programs for groups to one-on-one support for troubled families. With a mission that important they cannot afford to spend their time and money fixing computer problems.
Late in 2009 Mark Dixon, CEO, of HYO called Vermont to discuss taking over their IT support as their current employee was retiring. Their existing network equipment and workgroups were in good working order, albeit not the latest or greatest, but they did not have a server system or a robust backup. With limited budgets it was decided to invest in a robust managed backup system for all of the workstations throughout their different offices, to ensure that they can carry on if a disaster strikes.

In addition Vermont implemented their IT Management and Technical Support service giving HYO an unlimited service, whether remote or on site, to maintain their systems to be the best they could be. This involved fixing PC’s and laptop’s, managing their backup and ensuring email continuity, to name but a few things.
